When you support students through CEF scholarships, the ripple effect of your gift reaches far beyond each individual student. CEF scholars are inspiring their families, giving back in their neighborhoods, and making plans to use their education to change the communities that raised them.

CEF scholars attend 23 different K-12 Catholic schools in both urban and rural communities experiencing significant financial need across the Archdiocese. In many of those communities, our Catholic schools are the only choice for parents seeking an alternative educational solution for their children to an underperforming neighborhood school. Catholic schools have long histories serving and transforming struggling communities, and provide safe, supportive environments, academic rigor and faith formation that reliably produce graduates who go on to become productive, contributing members of their communities.

The average CEF scholarship graduate will make a positive net fiscal contribution of $292,000 to his or her community.*

During the pandemic, CEF schools served as the heart of their neighborhoods, becoming food banks, resource centers, and places of refuge. The generosity of donors like you allowed CEF to provide additional scholarship support, helping struggling families remain within the school community safety net, and helping schools welcome new students when neighboring schools were forced to close their doors.

"We will not change the world, if we do not change education."

Pope Francis
