Guests at the 2023 Gaudeamus gala heard the powerful testimony of scholarship recipient Emily Jimenez.
After a childhood filled with uncertainty, including time in which her family was living in their car, Catholic education helped Emily Jimenez find solace.
As an 8th grader at Resurrection Catholic School, Emily began cultivating her love for learning, service, and faith - leading the way for her success at Bishop Ward High School.
“My favorite thing about Bishop Ward is the faith community,” says Emily. “The scholarship from CEF means the world to me, because without it I wouldn’t have my best friends, and I wouldn’t have grown deeper into my faith.”

With her compassionate heart, unwavering determination, and remarkable leadership skills, after high school graduation, Emily plans to attend college to study nursing and contribute positively to her community and beyond.
