Quickly becoming a crowd favorite for young Catholics in KC, the CEF Art Event has now finished its fourth annual event held every February at Boulevard Brewery in Kansas City – arguably the best venue in town. For those of you who have not visited Boulevard Brewery you are most certainly missing out. The brewery offers a very cool rustic-yet-sophisticated atmosphere.  You can sip several taps of cold brew, including a tasting room selection only served at Brewery events, and support CEF at the same time!

Live music, art from several students enrolled in a CEF-supported school, and pieces from local artists give the event a unique personal touch. The Art Event offers young patrons an opportunity to enjoy Boulevard beer, wine and food in a fun atmosphere and support CEF’s mission to help kids living in poverty attend Catholic schools. Proceeds from the Art Event benefit CEF’s Guardian Angel Fund, which provides scholarships for families facing a short-term crisis (such as a job loss or medical emergency) that interferes with their ability to pay tuition. So far this year, the Guardian Angel Fund has helped 28 kids stay in their CEF schools despite financial emergencies in their families. 

While there are many charity events in Kansas City each year, this event has sold out four years in a row!  It’s an affordable, fun evening supporting a great cause.  Most charity events come with a much higher price tag. I would encourage you all to attend the CEF art event next year but please purchase your tickets early to avoid missing out.  This event will sell out!

I also invite you to get involved with the CEF Futures group, which hosts the Art Event. The CEF Futures are young professionals (ages 21 to 40s) who are committed to the mission of CEF and fund the Guardian Angel scholarships through their events.
