Guardian angel support allows 8th grader to stay in her CEF school

Posted on November 8, 2017 in Guardian Angel Fund

CEF's Guardian Angel Fund recently provided scholarship assistance for an 8th grade student who has had significant health issues, resulting in surgery, hospitalization and large medical expenses. Shortly after the student's surgery, her mother became seriously ill and was unable to work. The father, who had been working 2 jobs, had to reduce his work hours to help care for his wife and daughter. As a result of the medical expenses and decreased income, the family was unable to pay the daughter's tuition.

As the school principal shared in her application on the family's behalf, "The family is experiencing both financial and emotional hardship. The student has been seeing the school counselor and is in my office frequently."

The Guardian Angel Fund, supported the CEF Futures and their events, provided a scholarship allowing the student to finish her 8th grade year at the CEF school she has been attending.
