Catholic Schools Shine as Parents Explore

Posted on July 17, 2023 in News

This summer, parents across the country are searching for better education options for their children, and Catholic schools are emerging as a popular choice.

A recent survey of parents in the United States reports that changes in the educational landscape have prompted families to explore alternatives. Of the parents surveyed, 45 percent responded that at least one of their children will attend a different school in the upcoming year, with the primary focus on finding a better educational environment for their children.

This pursuit of quality education is driving more and more parents to consider Catholic education. Known for their safe and caring learning environments, Catholic schools are a bright spot on the latest reports on post-pandemic learning outcomes.

New data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) shows that learning outcomes for Catholic school students remained high compared to their public school peers coming out of the pandemic.

Known as the “Nation’s Report Card,” this data showed that Catholic school students had steady or increased scores in math and reading and the highest scores in the nation on all four NAEP tests. Additionally, Catholic schools ranked first in 8th-grade reading for students who qualify for free and reduced-price lunches.

With their reputation for excellence and focus on nurturing students’ social and spiritual development, our Catholic schools are well-positioned as parents actively seek the best educational opportunities for their children.
