Redirect your 2024 KS income tax payment to CEF to support scholarships.

CEF Tax Credit Scholarships provide tuition assistance for low-income students to attend K-12 Catholic schools through the Kansas Tax Credit for Low Income Student Scholarship Program.

If you’re facing a large tax liability this year, CEF’s 75% KS income tax credits can help. You may also qualify for additional benefits on your federal return, further reducing or eliminating your tax liability. Your qualified donation ($7,500 - $500,000) can reduce or eliminate your Kansas state income tax liability - saving you thousands!  Some conditions apply. Please contact CEF's Tax Credit Office for details.

Ways to Give

Stock/Mutual Fund Gift
(submit an application)

Giving appreciated stock directly to CEF (not the proceeds) can help you avoid capital gains taxes and provide a 75% KS income tax credit, plus federal deductions. The net cost of your donation can be a fraction of your gift.* Get sample tax scenarios.

Cash Gift
(submit an application)

With our 75% KS income tax credit, your contribution can eliminate or greatly reduce the amount of tax you owe to the state in 2024, and provide additional savings on your federal tax return. The net cost of your donation can be much lower than regular charitable deductions.* See sample scenarios.

Your tax credit application must be completed before making the contribution.

Who is eligible to receive the state tax credit?
The CEF Tax Credit Scholarship Program allows individuals, couples filing jointly, corporations and pass-through entities to reduce or eliminate their Kansas state income tax liability with a donation of up to $500,000 to CEF.

In addition, banks that pay privilege taxes and insurance companies that pay premium taxes are eligible.

The KS tax credits can only be issued for the year in which the contribution is made. These state tax credits do not expire and can be rolled over into future years if not used in totality in the year they were issued.

An investment that transforms lives and communities

CEF Tax Credit scholarship students have achieved a 100% graduation and advancement rate despite living in economically-challenged circumstances. Each scholarship graduate saved state taxpayers thousands of dollars.
