Mr. and Mrs. Stan and Suzan Cramer are this year’s recipients of the “Michael & Patty Morrisey Angels Among Us Award,” and they truly embody the spirit of Gaudeamus (“Let Us Rejoice”) as they have been joyfully giving to CEF for over a decade. Gaudeamus attendees are familiar with hearing Stan’s signature voice and seeing his big smile as the Gaudeamus Emcee for the past nine years. Behind the scenes, he has also contributed countless hours to video production for the event and served on CEF’s Marketing Committee. Both Stan and Suzan have been active volunteers on the Gaudeamus Committee.

Stan and Suzan have a long history of service throughout their 50 years of marriage, and they have been blessed with two sons, Sterling and Spencer, as well as their daughters-in-law and six grandchildren. Stan grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Rockhurst High School, and Suzan grew up in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.  After graduating from Plattsmouth High School, Suzan attended Creighton University in Omaha where she met her future husband.  Suzan’s professional career included working as a ninth grade teacher and serving as an art consultant in the Kansas City area, and she has volunteered countless hours with the Ladies of Charity and other organizations. However, her primary mission was always raising her family.

Stan spent 35 years in television news, and he is best known as a consumer investigative reporter for KCTV in Kansas City.  He has been recognized with numerous regional and national awards for uncovering various business and government scams.  Stan and Suzan are currently members of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Leawood, and over the years they have served in various roles both in their parishes and at Rockhurst High School.

St. Teresa of Avila once said, “God has no hands or feet or voice except ours, and through these He works.”  We thank God for the gifts of Stan and Suzan Cramer who have humbly allowed God to use their lives to serve others. They inspire all of us to reach out and walk towards those in need and to raise our voices in support of the worthy mission of the Catholic Education Foundation… “to make high-quality, faith-filled education possible for children living in poverty.”  Please join us in honoring them for their service and dedication to CEF by attending Gaudeamus on October 21, 2017.
