The gift of generosity

Posted on April 21, 2021 in Fundraising, Student Projects

Nearly one in ten Catholic school students across the Archdiocese are supported by a CEF scholarship. And with selfless giving at the heart of our faith, their Catholic education helps them to recognize both the joy of receiving the gift of education, and the joy of giving, too.

From penny wars, to jeans days, to crazy hat fundraisers, Catholic schools have made giving back to CEF fun for students. CEF is grateful for teachers, faculty, and students at the following schools for hosting fundraisers this year in support of CEF scholarships:

  • Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School in Paola, KS
  • John Paul II Catholic Elementary School in Overland Park, KS
  • Good Shepherd Catholic Elementary School in Shawnee, KS
  • Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Elementary School in Topeka, KS
  • Our Lady of Unity Catholic Elementary School in Kansas City, KS
  • Resurrection Catholic Elementary School in Kansas City, KS
  • St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School in Shawnee, KS
  • St. Matthew Catholic Elementary School in Topeka, KS
  • Xavier Catholic Elementary School in Leavenworth, KS

Together, they’ve contributed the funds to support over four average annual CEF scholarships! Thank you, schools, for bringing the gift of generosity to your students, and helping us bring the gift of education to more children just like them.

Students at Our Lady of Unity Catholic School in KCK battled it out in a "Penny War" competition to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. Students at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Paola made donations so they could wear their favorite hats to school to celebrate Catholic Schools Week.
