Guardian Angel Fund Allows Foster Care Student to Stay in School

A scholarship from the Catholic Education Foundation's Guardian Angel Fund is allowing a student to stay in his CEF school after his foster care placement changed, requiring him to move to a new home midway through the school year. Recognizing the challenges of changing homes and schools abruptly, the foster care family opted to keep him in his CEF school, but required scholarship assistance to do so.

In the Guardian Angel Scholarship application, the school principal wrote about the student: "He works hard to be a good student and a good person. He is learning how important it is for him to pray and to know that God is always with him. Our teachers have embraced him and show him amazing empathy and mercy given his situation. I like to think that when he looks back on his life, we are a bright spot in what has been a difficult life for a young boy."

Guardian Angel scholarships are funded by the CEF Futures, a group of young professionals committed to promoting the mission of CEF. For more information on the Futures, contact Amy.
