Thanks to your generosity, this event raised $1.99 million for scholarships!
On October 26, 1,208 people gathered at the Overland Park Convention Center for the Catholic Education Foundation's annual Gaudeamus ("Let Us Rejoice") Dinner. The celebration, which honored Kathleen A. O'Hara, Ph.D. as the 2019 "Michael and Patty Morrisey Angels Among Us" recipient, resulted in more than $1.99 million pledged for Catholic Education Foundation scholarships, a record amount! These funds will allow more than 1,000 children with significant financial need to attend Catholic schools throughout the archdiocese - a truly extraordinary result!
During the Gaudeamus program, St. Benedict Catholic School received the 2019 School of Excellence Award. Resurrection Catholic School at the Cathedral and St. Gregory the Great Catholic School were finalists for the award.
The Mater Dei Catholic School Drumline and the St. Michael Choristers provided entertainment. Christa Dubill served as the evening's emcee, and Terry Sexton provided live interviews of event guests, which were broadcast during the program.
The 136 volunteers who helped make Gaudeamus possible included dozens of Catholic Education Foundation students. Following dinner, guests stayed to enjoy dancing and live music by the Michael Beers Band.
THANK YOU to all the sponsors, guests, and volunteers who helped make Gaudeamus 2019 such a huge success for the children and families who benefit from the Catholic Education Foundation's scholarship program! Your support is truly changing lives!
