Looking back on my life so far, it is difficult to imagine just how different it would be without Catholic education. From my years as a student at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Lenexa and Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, to the time spent as a professional at Rockhurst University, Catholic education has provided me the academic, professional, spiritual, and social foundation for my adult life.

The Catholic Education Foundation Futures committee is hosting their seventh annual Art Event at Boulevard Brewing Company on February 28th at 6:30 pm. Every year committee members and friends gather at the Art Event to raise money for the Catholic Education Foundation’s Guardian Angel Fund. The Guardian Angel Fund was created to give scholarship support to families facing emergency financial hardships due to job loss, medical expenses or similar.

As we approach this very special season of both giving and giving thanks, I think about all of the things I’m personally grateful for: my children, the health of my family, and a job that allows me the opportunity to provide for my kids. One thing I’m especially grateful for this year is to be part of the Catholic Education Foundation’s Futures Committee. The Futures are a group of dedicated, young adults that focus on promoting the mission of CEF – the gift of a Catholic education for those that seek it.
