At the Catholic Education Foundation, we’re very fortunate to receive support from more than 1,000 donors and volunteers, including a dedicated team of young professionals who serve on our Futures Committee.

These young adults — many of whom are alumni of local Catholic schools — help us spread the mission of CEF while also raising funds for Guardian Angel scholarships.

The Catholic Education Foundation's Guardian Angel Fund recently provided scholarships for two students after their father lost his job. Without help, the family could not afford to pay the tuition needed to keep the students in their school.

In the application on behalf of the family, the school principal shared, “The girls are good children and very active in the parish, they volunteer and help for many of the events. The mother is always helping the school with her time: she ran our book fair, is a room parent, and is always reaching out to help in any way.”

CEF's Guardian Angel Fund provided an emergency scholarship this week that will keep a CEF student in his school after both of his parents lost their jobs, causing them to fall behind in their tuition payments. His father was injured earlier this year and has been unable to work since his injury. His mother's company eliminated her position; she is looking for a new position. She also has developed some health issues that will require surgery and a long recovery period.

CEF's Guardian Angel Fund recently helped two siblings remain in the CEF school they have attended since preschool after an injury kept their father out of work for a year. Due to medical issues, their mother has been unable to work consistently, and without the father's income the family was unable to afford their tuition payments. They sold their home near the school and moved to another home further away in an effort to reduce their expenses, but were unable to keep up with the housing costs and moved in with a relative.

The Guardian Angel Fund recently provided scholarship assistance allowing two siblings to remain in their CEF school after their parents separated and their grandmother became ill, leading to a decrease in their family's income. Although their mother was working full-time, she was unable to afford the children's tuition when her husband left. The children's grandmother initially helped with tuition, but was unable to continue her payments after she become ill and was hospitalized.
