This upcoming February, the CEF Art Event will present various opportunities to own some great artwork that has been donated by some very generous individuals in our community. The silent auction will feature 20+ pieces of art that range from photographs to sculptures, paintings and even jewelry. Kansas City is a major theme of this year’s event with a good number of the pieces showcasing local sports, schools or our beautiful city.

Some of my favorite pieces are below:

  • KC Royals Wooden Sign: This handmade sign has the Royals KC burned onto multiple wood planks. Perfect for any fan to display their love of our 2015 World Series Champions!
  • KC Skyline: A local photographer donated this gorgeous picture of our skyline that has been printed on an aluminum sheet. The aluminum really allows the color and detail of the photograph to pop.
  •  Union Station: This print was donated by the Ulmer Foundation. Ernst Ulmer was a regionally renowned artist from Kansas City, Kansas. His love of history can be seen in this print.

These and all of the professional pieces are available through the silent auction at the event. In addition to these great pieces, we will have student art from all of the CEF schools that are impacted with scholarship assistance. The student pieces will be raffled off throughout the night. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the door and throughout the event, prior to the raffle start.

As a reminder, all funds from the night (entry cost, raffle tickets and purchase of professional art) go towards CEF’s Guardian Angel Fund, which provides emergency scholarships for CEF families facing a short-term crisis. As a result, we are able to keep these kids in CEF schools and alleviate the financial burden related to tuition until the families are able to get back on their feet.
