CEF Futures Hosting Sixth Annual Art Event in February

Posted on November 30, 2017 in Futures Leadership Council, Upcoming Events

My Catholic faith has always been a part of my life. I was blessed enough to attend Catholic schools throughout my education, even through college at Benedictine. However, I’m not sure I appreciated it nearly as much as the children that benefit from the Catholic Education Foundation scholarships and CEF Futures Guardian Angel Fund. The fire in their hearts for Catholic schools is practically palpable and truly inspiring! Listening to the children speak about it put a fire in my own heart to do more to ensure all families could send their kids to Catholic schools, regardless of their financial situation.

One of the ways I give back is by serving on the CEF Futures committee. It is a group of young adults that are committed to raising scholarship funds to assist families at CEF schools that have encountered hardships, whether it be through job loss, illness, etc. Our biggest fundraiser is the most fun event in KC, the Art Event at Boulevard Brewery! This year the event is February 8, 2018. Tickets are $50 and always sell out fast, so please get your tickets early. We will have Boulevard on tap, wine, food catered by Jack Stack BBQ, desserts from Cakes by Aggie, and most importantly, beautiful art work and art experiences by local Kansas City artists. These will be bid on through a silent auction, along with a raffle for children’s art work from each of our CEF schools. Because of the amazing talent in our schools, the children’s pieces are the stars of the night! This is an event you don’t want to miss! The true blessing of this experience is that you’re helping families continue to provide a Catholic education and ensure bright futures for their children, while coming away with art work to decorate your home or office. I will see you there!
