Congratulations to St. Matthew School in Topeka, winner of the 2014 School of Excellence Award! The Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann CEF School of Excellence Award recognizes a CEF-sponsored school for providing superior Catholic education.

"We are so excited, yet humbled, to be named the CEF School of Excellence," said Heather Huscher, principal of St. Matthew School. "So many wonderful things are happening in our Catholic schools, so to be chosen from among them is a tremendous honor and blessing."

All of the CEF elementary schools are invited to apply for the annual award. The School of Excellence committee evaluates each school’s application based on the following criteria: Joyfully Catholic, Diligently Achieving, Intentionally Self-Giving, Prudently Managed, and Forwardly Thinking.

Finalists for this year’s award are Resurrection School at the Cathedral in Kansas City and St. Paul School in Olathe.

St. Matthew will receive the 2014 Award at Gaudeamus on October 25.

Put Catholic education within reach of every student.
