Guardian Angel Fund Helps Student Stay in School After Mom's Health Crisis

Posted on August 23, 2019 in Guardian Angel Fund

Shortly after his mother received a diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumor and was no longer able to work, a CEF student received a Guardian Angel Scholarship that allowed him to continue his Catholic education at a CEF-supported school despite his family's difficulties in paying tuition. In the scholarship application, the school principal wrote, "The parents are active in the school and parish and have been consistent volunteers. We feel it would benefit the student and the entire family to provide a stable school environment during this time of unknown circumstances."

The Guardian Angel Scholarship covered the family's remaining tuition for the year. Other school families have signed up to cover the parents' required volunteer shifts, and the school is providing after care for the student until his father, who is a teacher, gets off at work each afternoon.

Funding for the Guardian Angel Scholarships come from events hosted by the CEF Futures, a young professionals group. For more information on the CEF Futures, contact us.
