Guardian Angel Fund Assists Family with Tuition During Medical Crisis

Posted on August 23, 2016 in Guardian Angel Fund

CEF’s Guardian Angel Fund recently provided short-term scholarship support for a family with three children after a decrease in the father’s pay combined with an increase in medical expenses for an elderly family member made it difficult for the family to keep current with their tuition payments.

Prior to the Guardian Angel Fund award, the family had never sought scholarship assistance. As the principal explained in her application on their behalf, “The parents are always around school and involved as room parents and coaches. This family has never asked for assistance before because they feel the financial sacrifice they are having to make to send their kids to their CEF school is worth it.”

The family recently became full-time care givers for an elderly relative who has significant medical expenses. The family was getting by with overtime pay from the father’s job, but when his employer eliminated overtime they struggled to make their tuition payments. Thanks to support from CEF’s Guardian Angel Fund, the students will be able to remain in their CEF school.
