Guardian Angel Fund Assists with Tuition Payments After Loss of Family Member

Posted on June 9, 2016 in Guardian Angel Fund

CEF’s Guardian Angel Fund recently provided scholarship assistance for a student after a decrease in the father’s income combined with a death in the family made it difficult for the family to make their tuition payments. The father is a seasonal worker who was out of work for several months following a job-related injury. The mother works three part-time jobs. The student’s grandparents had been helping pay tuition, but the grandfather passed away this spring following a long illness.

“The student joined our school last year,” wrote the CEF principal in her scholarship application on their behalf. “In that time he has grown considerably in his faith.  Whenever there are announcements for retreats or youth ministry activities he is among the first to sign up.  His teacher also comments on how he has grown in his prayer life. He is a great kid that has the potential to do great things - he just needs the chance.”

Fortunately, with assistance from CEF’s Guardian Angel Fund, he will get that chance. Guardian Angel scholarships provide short-term tuition assistance for families facing an unexpected financial crisis and are funded by CEF Futures events.
