When Joan Wells, Wellington co-founder and CEO, first ventured to build an event planning company more than 20 years ago, she sought ways to empower the Kansas City community through her strong skill set of creative and logistical planning. Joan understood the value of strengthening the relationship between civic organizations and their audience and she saw events as the vehicle to achieve sustainability for those organizations.

Fall is upon us, and although our KC Royals aren’t in the postseason this year, we have much rejoicing to do! As we gear up for another great Gaudeamus dinner (translated “let us rejoice“), the CEF Futures committee held its first-ever Gaudeamus pre-party event. The event was a success and CEF would like to thank all those who attended.

This year the Catholic Education Foundation Futures (CEF Futures) is once again hosting an after-party immediately following Gaudeamus, CEF’s annual gala event, on Saturday October 29th, 2016 at the Overland Park Convention Center.

The CEF Futures is a group of young professionals (ages 21 to 40) committed to promoting the mission of CEF – and having a lot of fun along the way!

Like many others I know, my relationship with Catholic Education Foundation began with an invitation. At first, it was simply an invitation to the Futures Art Event in February. This turned into an invitation to have coffee with Michael Morrisey, which I accepted as I was told that he was a “great guy” (an understatement for those who know Michael). During that coffee, Michael invited me to experience Gaudeamus with my wife Amy, and after that night, we were hooked.
