The Catholic Education Foundation(CEF) will honor the STRAUB FAMILY at the organization’s eighth annual Gaudeamus Dinner Saturday night, Oct. 30, 2010, at the Overland Park Convention Center. More than 800 guests are expected at this fundraiser for scholarships for children in need. The Straubs are being honored for their contributions to Catholic education to include the under-resourced, inner-city and rural Kansas Catholic schools served by CEF.

Along with the Straubs CEF will present a special Catholic Education Community Service Award to the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica, Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth and the Ursuline Sisters of Paola.

The Catholic Education Foundation provides scholarships for needy families in Northeast Kansas, so they may attend Catholic schools sponsored by the Foundation. Over the last eleven years, CEF has provided more than $9.3 million in scholarships and financial assistance. Gaudeamus is the Latin word for “let us rejoice.”
