Paddle Power: Pickleball Tournament Excites

From intense rallies to moments of sheer triumph, the 2024 CEF Futures Pickleball Tournament was a thrilling display of athleticism, sportsmanship and pure fun - raising $7,000 for the CEF Guardian Angel Fund.

2024 CEF Futures Pickleball ChampionsHeld on April 6th at Chicken N Pickle in Overland Park, this year’s tournament included 20 doubles teams of all ages and skill levels. The tournament kicked off with a round robin, followed by elimination rounds. In the end, Rosco Halsey and Craig Hayes, competing as team Crab Legs, won the champion title and 2024 pickleball trophy, sponsored by City Rent A Truck.

CEF Futures engages Catholics in their mid-20s through late-30s, who are passionate about philanthropy and supporting Catholic education. This fun, family-friendly event was an important opportunity for Futures members to increase their support for CEF’s mission.

All proceeds from the tournament and raffle benefited the CEF Guardian Angel Fund, which provides financial support to students and families who experience hardship at any CEF school during the school year.
